Really great place with delicious meals! The macaroni cheese was creamy, hot, and fresh! The biscuits were soft and yummy. Fries were fresh and hot too! The ribs were beyond my expectations! The sauce was sweet with a gentle tang. Every bit of meat came right off the bone with ease. I definitely enjoyed my time here. The establishment is clean and well kept too. There are towels, utensils, condiments, and a multitude of barbecue sauces available for use. The restrooms are clean and smell good! It’s almost as if the restrooms were filled with the flowers from the hills in the Sound of Music. Love this place!

It was my first time to the Prospecters, Mt. Nittany Rib Company and WOW.....where do I begin! I decided to go with the Ribs, and I wasn't disappointed at all! They were by far the greatest ribs I've had in recent memory. The ribs had plenty of meat on them (the most of any ribs I've ever had) and I also got a side of the fresh cut fries (also excellent ) and it also came with a piece of good cornbread too. The total game changer was the selection of BBQ sauces they had available!! So many great flavors, but they were all stellar! The staff was excellent, friendly and delivered the food to your table with a smile. Nice and clean, comfy booths and top notch BBQ....what more could you want!? I will DEFINITELY be back...hopefully very soon!

The ribs are absolutely amazing with the mount Nittany BBQ sauce! I would highly recommend all my friends and family to come here if your craving good BBQ. Its a bit pricey but a 100% worth it. The staff was very friendly as well and the facility was super clean. Over all 10/10

I believe this is a new place, I stopped in while on business in the area, and I could smell it from the Highway, so I stopped in an right away, your greated with a Country atmosphere, the big TV screens of the menu which is ALOT of items, I just played it safe with Half rack ribs an a salad, and Man! I was pleasantly surprised with the size an the taste! Amazing! This place is def a place to come for Ribs! By far! If u haven't tried it yet, YOU MUST! You won't be disappointed! I'm glad I stopped in! Thank you Prospector's! Thank you!

The ribs are the best in town or anywhere actually. The wings are also excellent, meaty, juicy and tasty sauces. The service is fast and friendly and the place is clean and welcoming. This restaurant is a hidden gem off route26 College Ave.

Absolutely awesome BBQ, the selection is big and there are so many combinations and choices that it's worth stopping at the menu outside on the window to make your selections before going inside just so you don't hold up the line. Everything tastes homemade and is packed with flavor and the fact that they let you choose any of the five different bbq sauces up to all five of them means that you can sample each to find your favorite or just have a different flavor in each bite. The sides are hot and fresh and the cornbread with the honey butter is to die for, just wish they gave a little more of the honey butter and the baked beans with pulled pork . The only thing I would say I would change is the way the brisket is served, it's stringy like the pulled pork and wish it was chopped up a little, just makes it easier to eat, but its nothing much knife and cutting board couldn't remedy. I have found my goto BBQ joint and being from Texas that says alot!

One word: WOW. Absolutely delicious food! The sides are made in-house (at least the ones we had for sure). Best baked beans I’ve had in a long time. The pulled pork almost melts in your mouth. The brisket was a tad dry for my taste, but still had a delicious flavor! The soups are made in house (pictured is their roasted chicken corn chowder). Corn bread (served with honey butter) was just as cornbread should be! Several yummy sauces to choose from as well. Staff was extremely polite & helpful. There also seemed to be a great comradery between the staff. Venue: country, but charming a comfortable- pig out as much as you want- vibe. The dining area was very clean. The bathrooms were also very clean, and obviously freshened up often.
